One of my dearest girlfriends in LA, Katherine Wolf (see picture), was rushed to the emergency room yesterday with a brain hemorrhage. I am in Nashville, but Brandon went to the Hospital to support her husband, Jay, and she has since been in Surgery for 12 hours. Katherine and Jay are young (26), vibrant friends, new parents, and also the leaders of our Young Marrieds’ class at Bel Air Presbyterian. Katherine has been a pillar of strength and encouragement for many of my friends and myself. Last night, we were afraid she wouldn’t make it through surgery. This morning, Brandon called and said she was stable and breathing on her own! The Doctor said it was the most severe case he’s ever worked on (They only perform 20 of these surgeries a year at UCLA) and it would be a miracle for her to come out of this without Brain damage or a disability. I believe in Miracles. I’m happy my sweet friend is alive, so I rejoice in that, but she has such a beautiful, joyful, intelligent mind that I would be sad for her to lose. We all believed she would be a successful motivational speaker one day (like Beth Moore). She has a long road of recovery ahead. If any of you know of prayer groups, please forward this on to them and please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. My heart is broken for them. Thank you so much!!
