MAJOR Church Planting Meeting for the City of Houston

Please pray for "Pentecost Houston: Church Planting Challenge for the City of Houston," a one-day, by-invitation gathering called by Tom Billings, Executive Director of the Union Baptist Association (UBA). The Challenge: "What can we do to significantly accelerate the rate and level at which UBA congregations effectively penetrate lostness in the city by evangelizing new believers, discipling them in the faith, and forming them into reproducing congregations/churches?" This working meeting will be held Tuesday, April 29th, at Houston’s First Baptist Church. It could be a turning point in urban church planting in Houston. Thanks for praying. I will keep you posted.

  • The meeting brought together key leaders from some of the the most evangelistically effective Baptist churches in Houston for the purpose of generating new ideas and insights for church planting in our city. It also gave me the opportunity to meet some fascinating local leaders as well as reconnect with some equally fascinating old friends. I was especially excited to meet Rodney Woo, Pastor of Wilcrest Baptist Church, a very exciting multi-racial church in the Alief area. Thank you for praying!
