I have a friend who is about ready to lose his truck, his apartment, and have his utilities turned off. He is in a very desperate situation. He has been out of work since May–when the branch he was working at closed down– except for working for one month on a job that had him on his feet all day on concrete for 12-15 hours a day, six days per week. Working under those conditions took a toll on his back (he had already had back surgery), and he had to quit. His workman’s compensation has run out and so has his savings. I have been praying for him and even with him over the telephone. He professes to be a Christian, but he said that he would kneel down beside his bed and confess any sin that he might have in his life. I haven’t known him very long, but I know that he is in trouble. I told him that I would ask some of my church friends to pray for this very urgent need which is that God will supply him with a job that isn’t so taxing on his back. Feel welcome to share this request with others whom you feel would pray also. So that you will have a name to call in prayer, his first name is Charles; he goes by “Bob.”
I’m believing God for a miracle, but Satan still comes and tries to make me worry and doubt (in which case I just say, “Thank you, Jesus”). I know that there are many people out of work, and the numbers will increase. However, because I know this man (somewhat), I am deeply concerned.
