Prayers for my uncle

My uncle was diagnosed with colon cancer a few months back and is now going through treatment with a second doctor. The treatment with the first doctor wasn't as successful as we had thought. Please keep him in your prayers as he goes through his rounds of chemo and possible surgery. He had been previously upbeat through it all but I think the treatments and ongoing pain are beginning to takes its toll.

The Wolf's Moving to Pomona

Just received an update on Katherine Wolf that she is being moved to a rehab facility in Pomona CA - which means that they'll be moving from the home in WLA. What a big move - since they'll be farther away from their support group and church at Bel Air Pres. Just wanted to send out a prayer to the Wolf's during this move, and for God to continue heal Katherine and to provide for all their needs.

For more info, stay tuned to www.katherinewolf.info.

Bel Air Pres is going to China

At the beginning of September, our senior pastor (at Bel Air Presbyterian in Los Angeles), Mark Brewer, and outreach pastor, Enock De Assis, will be traveling with their wives and close friends to China. I hear they'll be meeting with some top Christian pastors in the city of Harbin, Shanghai, and Beijing. They're also meeting with officials at the Chinese Christian Council Headquarters.

I want to pray for this group's safe travels, and that through their meetings with the Chinese churches, the citizens, and government officials God's vision for the Church in China is advanced.

Will you join me in praying for them?

A prayer for Jay

I was talking to Brandon today about Katherine's husband, Jay and the burdens that he is under due to Katherine being in the hospital and taking care of their 6-month old son. He's blessed with so much family and friend support, even so, while we're praying for Katherine's recovery, I felt really moved to pray for Jay while he goes through the tremendous stress of this unimaginable situation. Let God watch over him, protect him, and supply him with all that he needs to get through this time of great need.

Katherine Wolf, out of surgery from a brain hemorrhage and facing damage or disability. Need a miracle!

One of my dearest girlfriends in LA, Katherine Wolf (see picture), was rushed to the emergency room yesterday with a brain hemorrhage. I am in Nashville, but Brandon went to the Hospital to support her husband, Jay, and she has since been in Surgery for 12 hours. Katherine and Jay are young (26), vibrant friends, new parents, and also the leaders of our Young Marrieds’ class at Bel Air Presbyterian. Katherine has been a pillar of strength and encouragement for many of my friends and myself.
Last night, we were afraid she wouldn’t make it through surgery. This morning, Brandon called and said she was stable and breathing on her own! The Doctor said it was the most severe case he’s ever worked on (They only perform 20 of these surgeries a year at UCLA) and it would be a miracle for her to come out of this without Brain damage or a disability.
I believe in Miracles. I’m happy my sweet friend is alive, so I rejoice in that, but she has such a beautiful, joyful, intelligent mind that I would be sad for her to lose. We all believed she would be a successful motivational speaker one day (like Beth Moore). She has a long road of recovery ahead.
If any of you know of prayer groups, please forward this on to them and please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. My heart is broken for them.
Thank you so much!!

Blessings for new paths and possibilities

Kindle was invited to participate in the annual prayer event at Fuller Theological Seminary called Fuller Fire starting today. I'm excited about the chance to be a part of this 4-day event, and I'm not quite sure what it will all mean for us and where it might lead Kindle. Please pray that the prayers of Fuller Fire will be heard and that God will lead us to places we never would have imagined or understood.

Aftermath of Virginia Tech Shootings... New Threats

This is from my good friend Lynne, who is a teacher at a High School in Denver, CO.

=====
Hi you guys. I know that you are all keeping up with the news at Virginia Tech. I am writing to you to ask you to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pray for the school where I teach....Cherry Creek High School. We are located about
20 minutes away from Columbine High School...and tomorrow is the 8th anniversary of the Columbine shootings (as well as Hitler's birthday).
There have been significant threats here over the last few days, with graffiti saying that "Columbine will happen again here at Creek on 4-20." I am scared. There are police on campus, and the administration is "ramping up" adult presence on campus by having about 20 retired teachers and
security officers come to school tomorrow. They have had us reviewing the lock-down procedure with the kids, and I am just overwhelmed. Your prayers would be more than appreciated (and needed!). Many students have not been coming to school....today or tomorrow. The kids that ARE here are very nervous and anxious. I am just at a loss. I have been praying all day, but I could use all the help that I can get...and apparently, so could this nation. I love you guys....

Lynne
=====

Please SPARK this and keep our nation's teachers in your prayers tomorrow.
